Overcoming environmental hurdles using precast elements

A 20-year project update

What happens when a waterway blocks the path to a new homesite? You precast a full-scale bridge onsite. This bridge needed to hold up to thousands of yards worth of loaded concrete trucks passing over during construction of his home.

Using precast elements added many benefits to this project, including a higher level of quality control and increased speed of construction on the job site.  To make sure the bridge would last for generations, FORTA-FERRO® macro synthetic fibers were used along with conventional steel reinforcement to give added structural benefits to the bridge deck and beams.

After 20 years, this precast bridge remains as structurally sound and strong as it did when it was constructed thanks to the use of FORTA-FERRO reinforcement fibers. This reinforced bridge has withstood the test of time and will remain Stronger Lasting™ for many, many years to come.
