FORTA Appoints Peter Ferris as CEO

FORTA announced today that it has appointed Peter V. Ferris, the former President/COO of Dur-A-Flex, Inc., as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2024. The appointment coincides with John Lindh, FORTA’s current CEO, assuming the position of Chairman of the Board.

Ferris comes to FORTA with over 40 years of business experience. Since 2011, he served as President and COO of Dur-A-Flex, Inc., in East Hartford, CT, where he successfully built and led the team that established Dur-A-Flex as the leading US supplier of resinous flooring and was consistently recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work in CT” by the Hartford Business Journal. In 2022, Dur-A-Flex completed the sale to Sherwin-Williams, after which Ferris led the successful integration of Dur-A-Flex into Sherwin- Williams’ Global Supply Chain and Performance Coatings Groups.
Prior to Dur-A-Flex, Ferris was President of Charter Medical, Ltd., in Winston-Salem, NC, a business unit of Manchester, CT-based Lydall, Inc. At Charter, he successfully built the team that returned the company to profitability after an FDA product recall. Prior to joining Charter Medical, Ferris spent seven years with Princeton, NJ-based Tyco International, Ltd., where he served as Vice President of Strategic Marketing. He also held leadership positions in Global Marketing, Public Relations, and Investor Relations at Tyco International’s corporate office, Telecommunications and Submarine Systems business unit.
Prior to Tyco, Ferris spent nine years with the Dexter Corporation, a specialty chemicals and materials company based in Windsor Locks, CT. At Dexter, he held key positions in the Specialty Coatings and Food Packaging business. His last position with Dexter was Vice President and General Manager of the Polymer Systems business, overseeing operations in Manchester, UK; Singapore; and Seabrook, NH.
