Fiber Reinforced Turtles – West Sunbury, PA

FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers were used instead of traditional reinforcement to reinforce these concrete turtle pavers. They used 128 ounces of Portland cement and mixed 6-7 cups of water until smooth. Then 9 grams of fiber reinforcement was added and mixed it through. The turtles were placed on a shaker table for approximately 15 minutes and left to cure for 24 hours. Subsequent versions were infused with 4 ounces of green concrete dye, giving these turtles an authentic ocean-life look.
