Sparkles Roller Rink

Marietta, GA - March 2004

Project Description

The Sparkles Roller Rink in Marietta, Georgia, required a repair solution for their cracked and deteriorated roller rink floor surface. The concrete contractor offered a topping slab over waterproof membrane solution, using conventional steel reinforcement and saw-cuts on 15-foot centers.  Due to previous positive experience with the FORTA-FERRO®, Prince suggested the fiber alternate as the best opportunity to approach a smooth surface on this very large 81 ft. x 167 ft. floor. FORTA-FERRO® 2-1/4″ was used at a dosage of 7.5 lbs. / cu. yd. in this 4″ thick topping. The FORTA-FERRO® offered no placement difficulties or surface blemishes for the laser-screed and machine troweled finish.
