Project Description
Thái Bình, a city in the Red River Delta in northern Vietnam, was in need of a series of precast river embankment units for urban, rural, environmental, and natural disaster prevention in addition to a response to climate change in the area. The use of FORTA-FERRO® reinforced concrete instead of traditional steel reinforcement was chosen for its superior durability and its ability to decrease the erosion from the seawater.
A project specifier mentioned, “Using FORTA-FERRO® fiber reinforced concrete aided in increasing the resistance to seawater erosion. Using the fiber helped to significantly reduce the labor hours and construction work time.”
Even after two large storms in the area, the fiber reinforced embankment units stood strong.
