Project Description
McMaster-Carr specified fibers for a tear-out and replacement of the external concrete for their distribution center in Aurora, OH. This job included the driveway and parking areas associated with shipping and receiving and general employee access. FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers were chosen and used at a dosage of 5.0 lb/cu yd in this 8,000 yd project. FORTA-FERRO provided surface durability for a continuous heavy truck traffic area. A majority of the job was pumped, and the fiber helped bind the material together during application. Since this job will be subject to extreme freeze-thaw cycles, as it is in the snow belt of northeast Ohio, FORTA-FERRO will help mitigate shrinkage cracking. Contractors were able to easily broom finish the fiber-reinforced product to add truck traction.
- Reduced Shrinkage Cracking
