Project Description
The McLaren Macomb Hospital used FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers to reinforce the six composite metal decks that make up this building in Mt. Clemens, MI. A fiber dosage of 4.0 lb/ cu yd was used in this 5,400-cu yd project. Fibers were specified to create a safer work environment, so workers did not have rebar and wire mesh as tripping hazards. Using FORTA-FERRO fibers also helped with scheduling needs by cutting down on prep days since the fibers were added directly into the ready-mix truck. This allowed them to pour two days in a row with no delays. This is the second McLaren hospital we have done with FORTA-FERRO fibers.
