Project Description
Relatively high loading has become the norm for many multi-story mezzanine projects, such as the pallet-rider and fork-lift traffic, used in the Luxotica manufacturing facility in McDonough, GA. Project structural engineers at PES Engineers and their consultants opted to augment the conventional steel reinforcement with a relatively high dosage of FORTA-FERRO® to reduce crack frequency and width on the 2nd and 3rd floor mezzanines. The additional fiber cost was easily justified by the reduced cost of repairs required for the typical cracking and curling in industrial mezzanines without the use of fiber.
Key Points:
- Reduced Cracking
- Tighter Cracks
- Increased Toughness
