Project Description
LORD Corporation, a global diversified technology and manufacturing company, plans to expand and upgrade operations at its Saegertown, PA facility. An anticipated $80 million investment will support the expansion of product lines and modernize the facility. Engineers specified fibers to be used to reinforce the new 896 sq yd warehouse floor, and FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers were chosen at a dosage of 7.5 lb/cu yd. By using the fibers at this dosage, contractors not only reduced the slab but were able to extend the joints to the column line. Owners were able to save time and money by not having to tie, place, and store steel reinforcements.
