Project Description
Kerle Tire built a new warehouse to store additional product in Clarion, Pa. Originally the warehouse floor was specified to be reinforced with steel, but the contractor chose to replace wire mesh and rebar with FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers. A fiber dosage of 3.0 lb/cu yd was used in this project totaling 420 cu yd. By using fibers and replacing steel reinforcements, the contractor was able to save time and money on labor and materials and eliminate the need for a pump truck that would have been used for the entire project. This was the first project Martin Construction had done using FORTA-FERRO and they were “very excited with the final finish.”
