Project Description
A large international distribution center in Pottsville, PA used FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers in a new pavement project that will be used for tractor-trailer parking. For this 7,000-cu yd project, fibers were specified and a dosage of 5.0 lb/cu yd was used. Using FORTA-FERRO fibers allowed for larger pour sizes since rebar was not used and workers didn’t have to make sure it was laid evenly in the concrete. Using FORTA-FERRO also allowed for a better wearing surface for their parking lot with a superior finish. This was the largest pavement project that either the contractor or ready mix producer had ever done using FORTA-FERRO fibers.
