Description
Gusmer Corporation and FORTA Experts worked with this design build team to create a design that was advantageous to both the owner and builder in this newly constructed multi-story building. FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers replaced rebar in this slab-on-ground application at a dosage of 3.0 lb/cu yd. 4.0 lb/cu yd of reinforcement fibers were also able to replace wire mesh in the slab-on-metal-deck portions. Using fiber reinforcement allowed the contractor to remain on schedule and save money, even while facing supply shortages and increased labor costs.
