Project Description
To provide early stability and additional toughness to the pervious matrix, the project consultant specified a synthetic fiber reinforcement that would not rust or break down over time. In keeping with the green building theme, the concrete producer supplied GREEN-NET®, made of 100% recycled polypropylene materials as reinforcement. Used at a dosage of 1.5 lbs. / cu. yd., the 1 ½” long GREEN-NET® fiber mixed and distributed very uniformly, and offered minimal visible evidence on the pavement surface. As evidenced in the project photographs, the pervious pavement successfully drains surface stormwater, while the surrounding asphalt pavement retains rainwater.
