Project Description
A fulfillment center in West Deptford, NJ specified FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers for its warehouse floor. This new projects consisted of a lab-on-metal-deck totaling 90,000 lb of macro
synthetic FORTA-FERRO fibers. Both FORTA-FERRO fibers and heavy, wire mesh mats were specified to reduce cracking and achieve less curling over the long run. Using FORTA-FERRO fibers also allowed for better surface finish for the top of the concrete which was very important since robots would be aiding in packaging. An impressive feature of this project was the distance that the concrete had to be pumped. It was being pumped up roughly 45 feet, and out almost 400 feet.
