Project Description
Fibers were specified to reinforce the bus pad on Farrington Highway in front of Jack-In-The-Box in Waipahu, HI. FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers were chosen to reinforce this slab-on-ground at a dosage of 7.5 lb/ cu yd. The county chose to use fibers to replace steel to help save taxpayers money while increasing the durability of the concrete. By replacing steel with fibers, the contractors were able to save time and complete the project faster.
