Description
The wire mesh in the pavement on these newly constructed concrete ready mix, block, and precast yards was replaced with FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fiber. FORTA engineers examined the multiple caseload conditions and recommended various thickness and fiber addition rates accordingly. 7.5 lbs./cu yd of FORTA Ferro was used in the precast storage and high traffic areas of the bulk material slab zones, while 5.0 Ibs./cu yd was used in the other areas. In all, over 160,000 lbs. of FORTA-FERRO were incorporated and provided full-depth reinforcement to this 1 million sq ft project.
