Case Farms specified FORTA-FERRO at a fiber dosage of 4 lb/cu yd in this 6” Thin Concrete Pavement (TCP) totalling just over 4,100 cu yd. Fibers have been used for decades by transportation agencies to improve post-crack performance and increase load transfer of the slabs. However, not all fibers are created equal. Using FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fiber reduces the warping and curling tendencies of TCP—improving the performance of the joints. The contractor, using FORTA-FERRO for the first time, enjoyed the speed at which the pavement was laid and the increased safety from eliminating steel.
