Project Description
This high-performance bridge deck in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, along highway 694 and 252 was placed in May of 2017. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) wanted to reduce cracking and prevent water intrusion through the concrete, which contributes to freeze-thaw deterioration. The entire bridge deck was pumped and placed in one day, saving the project time and money. FORTA-FERRO® mixed evenly and uniformly and showed no difficulty in the pumping, placing, or finishing of the concrete.
