Project Description
Bihler of America, a leading producer of precision high speed metal stamping, forming, welding, tapping, and multi-piece assemblies, chose FORTA-FERRO for a typical slab-on-ground application for a new warehouse. In this 1,880 cu yd project the contractor replaced specified steel with FORTA-FERRO fibers. This project took a lot of teamwork between the contractor and our FORTA team to get this floor switched to fiber. From the time they found out fibers would be allowed on this project to the first pour, FORTA had 36 hours to produce and ship nearly 6,000 pounds of FORTA-FERRO to the site in New Jersey. By using FORTA-FERRO the owner was provided a better wearing surface and less cracking. In addition, the contractor eliminated 2 days on the job tying and placing wire mesh. These advantages led to significant cost savings.
