Description
FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fiber replaced specified steel in this newly constructed hospital. Reinforcement fiber replaced W2.1 mesh in the slab-on-metal deck with a dosage of 4.0 lb/cu yd. The slab-on-ground application utilized 5.0 lb/cu yd FORTA-FERRO eliminating the need for #4 steel 12” O.C.E.W. The contractor utilizes FORTA-FERRO as often as possible for the ease of installation. Cost savings plays a tremendous role as well since there is no need to store or place steel.
