OPTIMIZED PAVEMENT DESIGN
OptiPave is a revolutionary design method based on designing concrete pavement so that no more than one wheel or set of wheels will be loading the same slab at any time, while providing improved concrete pavement performance. This tool in referenced in ACI 330.2R-17 and is a design alternative to optimized concrete pavements for industrial & trucking facilities.
While the need for budget friendly alternatives to asphalt paving drive initiatives in North America & Europe, this optimized pavement design boasts 20 years of proven performance in the South American market where it was first developed.
HOW IT WORKS
TCPavements’ proprietary software accurately predicts performance over time. OptiPave is specifically tailored to design short panel concrete pavements for any set of climates, traffic, subgrade/subbase layer, and material property inputs. This technology is further enhanced using FORTA’s flagship product FORTA-FERRO®.This macro synthetic fiber improves the residual strength of the concrete and structural capacity of the pavement. The addition of this macro synthetic fiber also gives better performance over its lifetime in post-cracking stages.
A shortened panel reduces the amount of curl & prevents both edges of the panel from being loaded simultaneously. This optimized design permits a significant reduction in thickness all while providing owners with a more durable concrete pavement that requires minimal maintenance.
